The month of September is fast approaching and the good weather is being exhausted before the first snow fall. However, Quebec continues to offer wonderful excursions and magical places to discover.
Whether in the Outaouais, Mauricie or Charlevoix region, there are still many motorcycle trips you can take before the end of summer. Discover three routes that, among others, deserve your attention in the coming weeks.
Gatineau Park in Outaouais
You can discover Gatineau Park in Outaouais by following Route 105 north. This road along the Gatineau River is ideal for enjoying the last days of warmth and admiring the surrounding flora.
Once you reach your destination, Gatineau Park offers an ideal spot to relax amidst hills and bodies of water. Take in the magnificent Ottawa Valley thanks to the route’s many lookouts, including Champlain, which is definitely worth the detour. For the urban public, the small town of Chelsea, located near the park, is a nice place to stop to be wowed by the works of the area’s many artists. You can also eat or shop before returning to the road.
Baie-Saint-Paul in Charlevoix
What's better than enjoying a scenic drive with breathtaking views to end the summer? In the Charlevoix region, Route 138 between Saint-Anne and Baie-Saint-Paul offers a perfect excursion for motorcycle tourism. Located along the Saint Lawrence River, this route will charm you with its landscapes of sea and mountains.
After the trip, visit Baie-Saint-Paul and its downtown area, nicknamed the artist’s paradise. Stroll the streets and discover the colorful facades of century-old houses, shops or local products.
If you are eager to continue your ride, you absolutely must take route 362 to La Malbaie. Called the River Road, it connects perfectly with Route 138 and will allow you to discover one of the most unquestionably beautiful motorcycle rides that the region can offer.
The Monteregie Wine Route
If you love good wine, visit Monteregie. This region will give you the opportunity to cross the wine route with its many vineyards. Several routes exist to discover the wonderful vineyards and their winemakers, who won’t hesitate to have you taste their products and passionately explain their production process. If you take the Yamaska River route, you will arrive at the heart of Monteregie. You will discover the Rougemont municipality, known for being the capital of Quebec apples. It hosts the Quebec Cider Competition in winter and many vineyards can be found in the area.
Be mindful with your consumption: moderation tastes better! If you can’t resist browsing the area in search of a wine tasting, spend the night in an inn near the vineyards and enjoy the sunset as it highlights the beauty of the vineyards.
