Every evening, after dinner, all over the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, thousands of people take to the banks to admire our sunsets.
As it descends on the mountains on the north shore, the sun turns on its incandescent lights to make us squint, warning us that it is getting ready to display its most beautiful attire.
Then, in a few seconds, it disappears behind the mountains. The panorama will move you. As the sun sets to make way for the moon lighting up the other side, the sky blazes red, purple and orange, a true rainbow of colors that unfolds in the sky, above the reliefs of Charlevoix and the Upper North Shore.
This direct connection with nature has genuine beneficial effects. Need a prescription? Tourisme Bas-Saint-Laurent will write you one! Let’s meet at www.couchersdesoleil.com. Until September 5, 2017, budding photographers are invited to take part in the "Great Hunt for sunsets". Last year, 3,200 took up the challenge.
A word of warning… The sunsets of the Bas-Saint-Laurent can have powerful side effects: marriage proposals, pregnancies, extended holidays, a sudden feeling of relaxation....
