Touring the land of the water builders

Touring the land of the water builders

Travelling over 600 kilometers on the mythical road to James Bay, you will reach the land of the water builders. At Robert-A.-Boyd Park, meet your host who will take you, on the recreated site of an exploration camp, through life at the time of the construction of one of the most imposing hydroelectric developments in the world. A monument is erected here to these anonymous heroes, carrying more than 100,000 names! Then visit the Robert-Bourassa development, the world's largest underground hydroelectric power plant, and be impressed by the dam, 53-stories high, and the giant staircase with ten steps, each the size of two football fields. Extend your stay by visiting the La Grande-1 power station and the Radisson substation, Québec's largest, and the only one open to the public, or with a spectacular helicopter ride over this grandiose landscape.
